Adrian Lira, PhD, LPC-S, is the Director of Professional Development at The Menninger Clinic and a Clinical Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine. In this role, he leads hospital-wide training, continuing education, and workforce development initiatives.
Dr. Lira specializes in multicultural competence, trauma-informed care, clinical supervision, and suicide assessment and treatment. He is passionate about advancing equity in mental health care and strengthening post-licensure development for the behavioral health workforce.
He earned his PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Sam Houston State University, an MA in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston–Clear Lake, and a BS in Psychology from the University of Texas at El Paso. Dr. Lira also serves on national committees, including the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) Board of Directors and the American Psychological Association’s Interdisciplinary Minority Fellowship Program review panel.
