Mariama Garba, PMHNP-BC

Mariama Garba, PMHNP-BC, is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at The Menninger Clinic. She brings a strong interdisciplinary background to her role, with experience spanning laboratory work and nursing, primarily in psychiatric care. 

Mariama earned undergraduate degrees in nursing from Auburn University at Montgomery and biology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed her doctoral training as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she developed a foundation in evidence-based psychiatric assessment and treatment. 

Mariama values working at The Menninger Clinic for its culture of compassion, collaboration, and patient-centered care. She appreciates being part of a team committed to making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives. 

Outside of work, Mariama enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and cooking.
