Cheryl is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse who received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Chamberlain College of Nursing. She has been a nurse at Menninger since 2009.
A member of the Texas Nurses Association, she received the 2017 Texas Nurses Association District 9 Outstanding Nurse Award as one of the top 20 nurses in the Houston area. As a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, Cheryl has contributed to poster presentations on topics related to wellness groups for lifelong health, as well as principles of a leadership model and how this is linked to nurse job satisfaction. She is also a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
Cheryl conducts orientation for new staff on the culture of safety and is the chair of the Menninger Nursing Community Partnership. She believes in leading with the heart and how caring for staff leads directly to great patient care.
