In addition to her roles as the director of Education and Training and the director of the Social Work Fellowship, Cynthia Mulder is a senior social worker at Menninger.
She collaborates with peers to design and provide continuing education activities and other training opportunities for clinicians at The Clinic. Under her direction, the Education Department plays a major role in collaborating with other organizations to provide joint public continuing education programming.
As director of the post-graduate social work fellowship, she manages recruitment, selection and coordination of the year-long clinical training program at Menninger.
Cynthia also organizes and facilitates our bimonthly Family Education Day, which helps families of patients learn about mental illness, attachment theory, mentalizing techniques, pharmacology, psychotherapy, wellness and recovery planning.
As a senior faculty member for The Daring WayTM, Cynthia teaches at intensive three-day certification workshops for licensed clinicians seeking certification.
She also is a frequent presenter on behalf of Menninger at local and national conferences.
Prior to joining Menninger in 2010, Cynthia worked at the Austen Riggs Center as a clinical social worker and family therapist.
She earned her master’s degree from Smith College for Social Work and her undergraduate degree from Middlebury College. She is currently an advanced candidate in psychoanalysis at the Center for Psychoanalytic Studies in Houston.
