A psychologist with more than 10 years of experience, Dr. Bhuyan is also an assistant professor in the Menninger Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine. Her expertise includes integrative psychotherapy and psychology, trauma and the treatment of complex psychiatric disorders.
She earned her undergraduate degree from Sophia College in Bombay, India, her master's degree from Radford University in Radford, Va., and her doctoral degree from James Madison University in Harrisburg, Va.
Dr. Bhuyan completed an internship at Southwestern Virginia Mental Health Institute in Marion, Va., and a postgraduate fellowship at The Menninger Clinic.
A member of the International Beliefs and Values Institute, she is interested in the integration of insights from psychology to address global issues like gender, environmental concerns, civic engagement and global studies.
In her free time, Dr. Bhuyan enjoys cooking and creating her own recipes. She also has plans to visit every national park in the U.S.
