Elizabeth Arango, LCSW

The director of our Eating Disorders Services, Elizabeth is a senior social worker with more than 15 years of experience. In additon to eating disorders, her expertise includes personality disorders, mood disorders and attachment issues.

She earned her master's degree in Clinical Social Work from New York University and her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Washington-Seattle.

Her experience includes service as a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras, a community-based Office of Mental Health in Brooklyn, New York, the New York City Public School System and New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Hospital.

Elizabeth is an intrepid traveler and likes to consider herself an amateur scholar of Brazilian samba.  She also really enjoys spending time with her family and neighbors with no particular agenda whatsoever.
