Lauren Douglas, MD, is a staff psychiatrist on Menninger's Short-term Stabilization Service for adolescents and an assistant professor in the Menninger Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine. Board certified in adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry, she has more than 10 years of experience in emergency, inpatient, outpatient and telemedicine settings.

 

Dr. Douglas has expertise in ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma and PTSD, oppositional disorders and psychotic disorders.

 

Her professional memberships include the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians and Black Psychiatrists of Greater Houston.

 

Dr. Douglas earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Prairie View A&M University and her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). She also completed a residency in adult psychiatry and a child and adolescent fellowship at UTMB.
