Sandy Soenning, PhD, is a staff psychologist at The Menninger Clinic. She is also an assistant professor in the Menninger Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine.

 

During her more than 15 years of professional experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, she has worked extensively with children, adolescents and adults with mental health issues.

 

She has given workshops or presentations on topics that include mentalization-based therapy, complex trauma in children and adolescents and a mentalizing approach to assessment with adolescents who have attachment trauma.

 

Dr. Soenning earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Lamar University and her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Texas Tech University. She completed a psychology internship at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and a post-doctoral fellowship at The Menninger Clinic/Baylor College of Medicine.
