This year, June 19 is an extra special day for The Menninger Clinic. Not only is it Juneteenth, a holiday that represents freedom and liberation for African Americans, this is the first year that Menninger employees will celebrate it as an official staff holiday.

Juneteenth carries a significant weight as a celebration of African American culture and heritage in American history. As a national leader in the mental health community, Menninger is committed to doing its part in bridging the gap in the ongoing fight for equality and justice. This includes continuing to offer diversity, equality, and inclusion activities like Listening Circles and Lean In groups. Giving staff the chance to learn, share and grow while tackling challenging societal topics is a key value of The Clinic.

Team Menninger recognizes the impact that the trauma of inequality and racism plays in the lives of millions of Americans today and pledges to advance justice wherever it can.
